Amy at Tilgate Park

Amy at Tilgate Park

Had a cold but great day on Friday with Amy.  Tilgate park is a large area and full of different gardens and woodland.

There was a biting wind but the sun was shining and it stayed dry, well until lunchtime when we had an hail shower for about 30 minutes.  Luckily we were in the cafe at the time.

After the shower past we went out again for a couple of hours.

All shots were taken either with natural light with reflector and one speedlite on the D700 with 70-200mm F/2.8 lens.

Amy at Camber Sands and Rye

Well what a day we had down in the beautiful Camber Sands and Rye.  These were taken last Friday in lovely sunshine...

If you have'nt been to Camber Sands it is recommended that you do..the dunes are brill.

I would like to thank Amy for being a star..she worked tirelessly and we got some great shots.  I'd also like to thank her boyfriend Tyler for coming a long and becoming my assistant for the day, he was a great help.

Well here's some pictures from the day...enjoy....

Friday 13 July 2012

In April of this year I was awarded a Highly Commended for the following photo in the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) monthly competition in the Open Advant Garde category.

The awards for this have been changed this year and are now Gold, Highly Commended (old Silver) and not awarded.  The competition has become harder to achieve an award and this has lead me to have to start working harder on my photography and the on the photos that I enter.

Being awarded a Highly Commended was a very uplifting experience.  Also all Highly Commended photo's are re-judged towards the end of the year and could be upgraded to a Gold...here's hoping...:)

Anyway, here's the photo.

Well I have started my Studio Development with my friend and mentor John Denton of http://www.dentonphotography.blogspot.co.uk/

This is a year long program and I'm loving every minute.

First day was a full on model shoot.  The model was a great girl called Hayley Coxon.  Hayley is a professional dancer and is certainly confident in her own body and knows exactly how to move and contort.

She was brilliant and no matter what I or John asked her to do she did it flawlessly and without question.

Below are some pics from the day.......
